China Global Television Network, or CGTN, is a multi-language, multi-platform media grouping. It consists of six TV channels – including a 24-hour English-language news channel – a video content provider and a digital media division. Their website is CGTN.com.
CGTN broadcasts live 24/7 from studios in Beijing, Nairobi (Kenya) and Washington, DC, USA. The broadcast may be found on CBC’s MCTV, Channel 209, or on Youtube, by a search for CGTN live. This live broadcast and streaming channel combines news, sports and features, worldwide. It is distinguished by the fact that the studio feed shifts from Beijing to Nairobi to Washington DC over the course of the day. As it does so, it picks up programmes from the other CGTN channels, such as Africa Live, Americas Nowand Travelogue.

CGTN Documentary, on MCTV Channel 518 and on Youtube, features documentaries on the food, landscape, visitor attractions, customs and habits, history and legends of China. The longer features are broken up into half-hour segments. A recent series focused on China’s mega-projects in energy and transportation.
